I offer competitive and flexible fee structures for criminal defence proceedings, on either a block fee or hourly rate basis. Payment plans may be available depending on your personal circumstances and the nature of your case.
Your legal fees will depend on the nature of the charges faced and the work required for your representation. I make every effort to be one of Toronto's affordable lawyers. It is sometimes difficult to anticipate each and every circumstance and the final cost of the criminal defence at the outset of the case. However, I will outline all that is anticipated given the specific nature of your criminal offence charge, and the expected costs associated with it.
Block fees are based on expected work that has to be done in order to fully and properly defend your case. Factors considered in the determination of the block fee include the type of case or criminal offence being defended, whether the matter is being resolved or heading to a trial, the expected hours of preparation needed, the expected days needed for trial, the anticipated disbursements associated with the case and the distance travelled to the court of law.
I will advise you of the criminal defence services included as part of the block fee and of potential costs beyond the block fee.
There are no hidden fees or costs to which you have not agreed to prior to my commencing the work.
I do accept Legal Aid in certain circumstances, and we can evaluate whether a Legal Aid certificate may be available during the initial consultation meeting.
